Tokyo Sight Seeing - Tokyo City tour

A one day sightseeing around Tokyo is a dilemma for most of them who have been here for years and so one could guess the condition of a visitor from a foreign country. The Japan Travel Digest would suggest to go for a one day trip by Yurikamome line, stating from Shinbashi to Toyosu. The monorail will take you through the Tokyo skyscrapers and the waterfront of Tokyo bay, giving a magnificent view and pulse of the Tokyo metropolis. It has 16 stops and each will have a unique attraction to experience. 

Aquacity Odaiba 

There are nice views of the Rainbow Bridge from the wooden deck in front of Aquacity and neighboring Decks. Aquacity is a shopping mall featuring various stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and a 13 screen cinema complex. Visitors can enjoyee the illuminated Tokyo Bridge with Tokyo towen in the back after sunset. Better to spend after the sunset. Visitors can also access sight seeing bots from near by boat jetty. The Tokyo liberty statue is situated at this place. This area will be crowded during the week end evening.

                                                        Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge connects Odaiba to the rest of Tokyo. The two story bridge is an iconic symbol of the bay and is especially beautiful during its nightly illumination. The bridge supports an expressway, a regular road, the Yurikamome train line and pedestrian walkways along both sides. The bridge has a sidewalk where we can cross the bay on foot enjoying the magnificent view in 30 minutes.

Statue of Liberty

The French Statue of Liberty came to Odaiba, the beach area of Tokyo since April 1998 until May 1999 in commemoration of "The French year in Japan". Because of its popularity, in 2000, a replica of the French Statue of Liberty was erected at the same place. This replica is located on the same latitude as the original statue in New York.

 Fuji TV Building
This is the headquarters of Fuji Television. Visitors can access the building's observatory deck housed in the sphere shaped part of the building. We can also see some exhibits on popular programs, buy Fuji TV goods at a shop.

Telecom Center
The Telecom Center is a major hub on the information highway with several large satellite antennas on its observation deck. The observation deck offers nice view of the bay area. Visitors can also see the Mt.Fuji on clear days.

                                                      Toyota museum and showroom

This is a giant Toyota showroom called Toyota Mega Web that shows off all of Toyota's latest models, car accessories and technologies. Attractions include test driving of cars and a museum exhibiting cars from past decades. Visitors can get access each car and experience it.

Venus Fort

Venus Fort is a shopping mall in the style of a 18th century South European town. The mall features over a hundred shops, fashion boutiques, cafes and restaurants on three floors including a few outlets shops on the upper floor

Tokyo Big Sight
Tokyo Big Sight
Tokyo Big Sight is Japan's largest exhibition and convention center and one of the bay islands' boldest architectural creations. This is also known as Tokyo International Exhibition Center. Wide arrays of events are held at the Big Sight throughout the year including the Tokyo motor show.

Ferris Wheel

This 115 meter tall ferris wheel is one of the world's largest and offers nice views of Tokyo Bay and Odaiba below. Each cabin seats six (or four in the all-glass cabins), and the complete revolution takes about 15 minutes.

Panasonic Center

The Panasonic Center is a showroom for the latest products and technologies by the Panasonic Corporation. The third floor is Risupia, a hands-on math and science museum.

Maritime Museum

This museum looks like a large cruise ship docked along the Odaiba waterfront. The main building exhibits the history and technology of ships. Outside you can board two real ships that are permanently docked next to the museum.

Oedo Onsen Monogatari

Opened in 2003, Oedo Onsen is a hot spring theme park which can give the atmosphere of the Edo period. Visitors can enjoy various types of indoor and outdoor baths which are fed by hot spring water pumped from a depth of 1400 meters. Restaurants, massage, games and other entertainment, as well as overnight stays are available.
Open: 11:00am to 9:00am (last entry 7:00am)

Admission: 2900 yen (2000 yen from 18:00 to 2:00, 1900 yen from 5:00)
An additional 1700 yen overnight fee applies from 2:00 to 5:00.

By Yurikamome Visitors can access all the attractions by the Yurikamome line is running between Shimbashi station in JR Yamanote line and Toyosu on the Yurakucho subway line. The Yurikamome cross the Rainbow bridge and offers spectacular views of Tokyo skyscrapers, Tokyo water front and the harbor.

Round-Trip Tickets
Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines at all Yurikamome stations. The fare of round-trip tickets is twice that of one-way tickets for the desired route. There are no discounts. Round-trip tickets are valid for two days from the day of purchase.
